Being a partner in a successful real estate management and realty services firm for over a decade has allowed Warren to acquire a plethora of knowledge, experience, and contacts in industrial, office, commercial, and multi-residential real estate in Montreal.
Q&A With Warren Suissa
What has been your biggest career win? What did you learn from it?
One win that stands out was when I was the listing broker for a property for sale. I was able to find a purchaser for the property. Another company had a right of first refusal to purchase the property, which they exercised and ended up closing on the property. My original purchasing client was obviously very disappointed in the situation as they needed the property to grow their business. After an extensive search, I was able to find them another property that ended up fitting their requirements perfectly, even better than the original property. At the end of the day, it was a win-win for all parties. I guess one thing that I learned from the situation was that even if things seem difficult, even almost impossible, if you work hard there might be a silver lining.
What was a pivotal moment in your career? Why was it important for you?
A pivotal moment in my career was when I joined my current agency and was able to have the freedom to expand my business and I was able to grow my business beyond even my own expectations.
How has the industry changed since you started?
I have seen ups and downs throughout the years of my career. The key to my success has been to evolve with the changes. Reinvent yourself and think outside the box in order to survive even the most difficult markets.
Is there anything you know now that you wish you knew when you started?
The answer is obvious. A LOT! I am a strong believer that with experience comes knowledge and every deal that I have been involved in has taught me something new that I have been able to add to my skill set as a commercial real estate broker and in turn has allowed me to service my clients and come up with creative ways to close deals that sometimes seem like impossible situations.
Are there any tough technological challenges in the industry you are seeing? If so, what are they?
With AI becoming more and more relevant in not only the commercial real estate industry but all industries, I feel that it is important to always stay on top of technology and understand how it can benefit my business.
What are some tactics you’ve used to establish yourself as a trusted CRE professional?
Experience and experiences that I have been involved in throughout my career. Always be humble and never stop learning. Every deal I transact teaches me something new.
